Jibreel Black: #27

Jibreel Black, a strongside defensive end prospect from Wyoming, Ohio visited Michigan this weekend. Early in the recruiting process the staff had him targeted as one of their top defensive line prospects, but he commited to Indiana where his brother plays. Later on, Black visited Cincinatti and decided to make the switch, committing there afterwards.

After a very long recruiting process though, the staff finally got Black onto campus and as you can see, everything went well from there and Jibreel committed to Michigan, giving them 27 commitments in the 2010 class.

With Brandon Graham's graduation Michigan still needs bodies on the defensive line, and Black is expected to come in and compete at Graham's former defensive end position. Jibreel is rated three stars by rivals and 4 stars by scout.

Even though Rich Rodriguez was quoted as saying "Michigan will sign 26" in the class of 2010 that number has already been passed, with a few players still on the board. Tony Drake is no longer expected to be part of the class, and there is a possibility for another academic casualty or two as well.

The staff is still heavily pursuing Florida S Rashad Knight and California S Sean Parker, so Black's commitment will not affect either of them from committing. Both Parker and Knight are expected to announce on signing day, so Wolverine fans will have to wait until then to see how this class finishes out.
